Nell'ambito dei
festeggiamenti in onore della
Madonna del Carmine, organizzati dalla
Confraternita
Maria SS. del Monte Carmelo di cui è priore
l'ing. Giovanni
Antonicelli, si è tenuto, sul Lungovalle
della stessa chiesa del Carmine di
Massafra/Ta, sabato
14/07/01 l'incontro/dibattito sulla "Cultura della
donazione e trapianto di organi".
Si è trattato di una conferenza-dibattito sulle problematiche legate alla donazione ed al trapianto degli organi e sul ruolo sul territorio delle associazioni ATO e AIDO.
Don Michele Quaranta, teologo, ha affrontato il problema sotto il profilo etico, mentre la dott.ssa Maria Antonietta Perniola sotto quello morte cerebrale e legale.
Il profilo informativo/divulgativo è stato invece curato dai presidente dell'AIDO Augusta Bisanti e dal presidente regionale dell'ATO Giovanni Santoro.
Il presidente Giovanni Santoro , e l'amministratore ATO, Mario Morea, al momento dei ringraziamenti alla famiglia Contento
Sia Bisanti che Santoro da
anni sono impegnati in città a far conoscere l'AIDO (Associazione italiana
donazione organi) e l'ATO (Associazione trapiantati di organi
onlus).
I principi su cui si basa l'AIDO (ha detto
Augusta Bisanti) sono contenuti nello statuto associativo in cui si può leggere,
che l'Associazione si dichiara apartitica, aconfessionale, interetica, senza
scopi di lucro, informata ai principi etici e a quelli dettati dall'ordinamento
giuridico dello Stato.
E' un Associazione costituita tra cittadini favorevoli alla donazione
volontaria e gratuita di organi tessuti e cellule.
Abbiamo visto che grazie ai trapianti persone
destinate a morire possono tornare a condurre una vita quasi normale. Se visto
anche le difficoltà che devono essere superate per i prelievi di organi s fine
di trapianto.
Occorre
quindi un'organizzazione che porti alla luce questo problema e sensibilizzi la
popolazione il potere politico e la classe medica.
L'AIDO ha continuato la Bisanti, ha il compito,
prima di tutto di promuovere il rafforzamento della solidarietà umana;
sollecitare la coscienza della necessità della donazione di parti del proprio
corpo, dopo la morte, per i trapianti ed innesti
terapeutici.
Quindi
sostenere, anche in accordo con Istituzioni, Enti ed Associazioni Italiane ed
Internazionali, particolari iniziative tendenti ad affrontare le problematiche
connesse con la donazione ed il trapianto di organi, tessuti e
cellule.
Nel suo
intervento, ha fatto comprendere la grande utilità dell'AIDO, che dal 1999, in
seguito alla promulgazione della nuova legge sui prelievi e trapianti di organi
e tessuti, ha assunto la nuova denominazione " Associazione Italiana per la
Donazione di Organi e Tessuti"
La Dr.ssa
Perniola M Antonietta il Presidente ATO Giovanni Santoro, e AIDO Augusta
Bisanti, il teologo Don Michele Quaranta e il parroco Don Salvatore Di Trani
durante il convegno.
A parlare invece del trapianto e dei trapiantati è stato invece il presidente regionale ATO Giovanni Santoro.
Dopo aver ringraziato la
confraternita, e il parroco don Salvatore Di Trani, dell'iniziativa presa, che
certamente è maturata dal desiderio di aiutare molta gente colpite da gravi
patologie, lui ha detto che l'ATO è un'Associazione i cui componenti sono
persone che, grazie a dei trapianti di organi vitali, sono ritornati a
vivere.
All'ATO, ha
precisato vi fanno parte quindi persone che, dopo aver vissuto questa esperienza
prodigiosa e toccante, hanno sentito il dovere di il dovere di associarsi per
impegnarsi ed aiutare chi dovrà affrontare un trapianto, per fare in modo che la
persona trapiantata sia consapevole, seguita ed aiutata possibilmente in
strutture ospedaliere idonee.
Ed inoltre per diffondere sempre di più nella popolazione una cultura
dei trapianti e delle donazioni di organi in modo da rendere questa conquista
della scienza, accessibile a tutti coloro che avranno, in futuro, come unica
alternativa di vita questa terapia.
Oltre a fornire informazioni ed appoggio morale a
chi è in procinto di trapianto, l'ATO si prefigge di sensibilizzare le Aziende
ospedaliere le Istituzioni e le l'opinione pubblica sulle problematiche
correlate alla carenza di donatori e quindi di. organi, al fine di ridurre le
liste di attesa e le conseguenti possibilità di decesso dei malati prima di
poter arrivare al trapianto .
Inoltre s'impegna a promuovere e consolidare i rapporti con altre
Regioni sul problematiche della "Donazione di trapianto d'organi". Nello stesso
tempo instaura rapporti di collaborazione con gli amici trapiantati di altre
regioni.
Nella
donazione di organi (ha detto Santoro) la solidarietà raggiunge una delle
espressioni più significative e forti, perché si tratta di salvare da morte
sicura o da condizioni di grave sofferenza e limitatezza altre persone, donando
parte del proprio corpo nel momento in cui non ne abbiamo più bisogno, cioè dopo
la nostra morte".
E
sempre Santoro ha ricordato che nel 1991 il Papa Giovanni Paolo II, in occasione
di una udienza ad un gruppo di medici, ebbe a dire che è essenziale non ignorare
i valori morali e spirituali che entrano in gioco quando degli individui
liberamente e consapevolmente decidono di donare una parte di sé, una parte del
loro corpo, al fine di salvare la vita ad un altro essere
umano.
Infine Santoro rivolgendosi ai presenti ha chiesto loro massima collaborazione e appoggio all'ATO e AIDO affinché esse possano raggiungere gli obiettivi prefissi "salvare quei otto pazienti che muoiono al giorno nella speranza di essere trapiantati."
Durante la conferenza è
stata consegnato dall'ATO e AIDO una targa ricordo alla famiglia Contento
Giovanni, la quale famiglia, dopo la morte della loro cara Palma, donando gli
organi hanno permesso ad altre persone di ritornare a vivere. Santoro
ringraziandoli ha ricordato che Palma , attraverso la lonazione dei propri
organi, ci ha lasciato una presenza culturale forte e attenta, aperta e radicata
in profondi vincoli di amicizia e nell'amore per la Vita, lei continuerà a
vivere in tutti i trapiantati di organi per aver dato vita, vive in tutta la
gente per il bellissimo e amorevole esempio che ha dato e nel bene che ha
fatto.
A noi resta il
dovere, per la riconoscenza e il rispetto che le dobbiamo, fare del Suo ricordo
un modello incancellabile affinché tutti possono comprendere che la morte così
brutta, malvagia, spietata possa diventare, se dentro noi c'è amore, e
solidarietà, un punto di rinascita per nuove vite.
Palma l'ha dimostrato che, lei questo l'aveva
capito, è ha voluto lasciare in eredità, questa grande opera "L'amore verso gli
altri e la vita per gli altri".

Di Trani, il presidente Giovanni Santoro si trattengono con il Sig. Contento
Giovanni Marito della Sig.ra Palma, la quale dopo la sua morte ha voluto donare
i suoi organi.

In the circle of the celebrations in honor of the Lady of the Carmine organized from Brotherhood Maria SS. of the Mountain Carmelo of which is prior the ing. Giovanni Antonicelli, is one kept on the Lungovalle of the same church of the Carmine of Massafra/Ta, Saturday 14/07/01 the incontro/dibattito on the Culture of the donation and transplantation of organs.

population.
The aido has continued the Bisanti, it has the assignment,
before everything to promote the strengthening of human solidarity; to solicit
the conscience of the necessity of the donation of parts of the proper body,
after death, for the transplantations and therapeutic grafts.
Then to sustain, also in accord
with Institutions, Corporate body and Italian and International Associations,
particular initiatives tendenti facing problem list connected with the donation
and the transplantation of organs, fabrics and cells.
In his intervention you/he/she has made understand the
great utility of the AIDO, that has assumed subsequently the new denomination
Italian Association for the Donation of Organs and Fabrics to the promulgation
of the new law on the collecting and transplantations of organs and fabrics from
1999
To speak instead of the
transplantation and of the transplanted ones has been the president instead
regional ATO Giovanni Santoro.
After having thanked brotherhood and the priest Mr. Savior Of Trani, of
the taken initiative, that is matured certainly by the desire to help a lot of
people struck by serious pathologies, you/he/she has said that the ATO is an
association whose component they are persons that, thanks to I/you/they have
returned some transplantations of vital organs to live.
To the ATO you/he/she has specified they make for you part
therefore persons that, after having lived this prodigious and touching
experience you/they have felt the duty of duty to associate for undertaking and
to help who you/he/she must face a transplantation, doing way that the
transplanted person is aware, follows and helped in fit hospital structures
possibly.

more always in the population a culture of the transplantations and the

other regions.
In the donation of
organs (Santoro has said) solidarity reaches one of the most meaningful and
strong expressions, because it tries to saving from sure death or from
conditions of serious suffering and narrowness others persons, giving part of
the proper body in the moment in which we don't have any more need, that is
after our death.
And Santoro has
always remembered that in 1991 the Pope Giovanni Paul II, had say on the
occasion of a hearing to a group of physicians to that you/he/she is essential
to not ignore the moral and spiritual values that enter in game when of the
individuals freely and knowingly they decide to give a part of oneself, a part
of their body, with the purpose to save life to another human being.
Finally Santoro turning him to the
presents you/he/she has asked maximum collaboration and support to them the ATO
and AIDO so that they can reach the established objectives to save that eight
patients that die a day in the hope to be transplanted.
