L'ATO ha organizzato la mostra con i presepi di Padre Cosimo per raccoglire fondi da destinare in beneficienza e certamente con l'intendo, in occasione. di parlare insieme all'AIDO di ";Donazione e Trapianto di Organi"

I PRESEPI IN CARTAPESTA

In esposizione si sono potuto ammirare alcuni suoi magnifici presepi, alla cui costruzione si dedica da circa 30 anni e cioè da quando aveva 22 anni.

Presepi creati usando varie tecniche (dal gesso alla creta, dal sughero alla cartapesta) e che si possono ammirare in qualsiasi giorno dell'anno presso il convento dei Padri Passionisti di Ceglie Messapica.

I presepi che sono stati esposti presso la Biblioteca Comunale di Massafra erano in cartapesta.
Tecnica quest'ultima che lo ha già inserito nello stupendo mondo dell'Arte non solo per la creazione di statue sacre e personaggi, ma anche per i vecchi mestieri della sua terra salentina che rappresenta in tutti i mini particolari.

I presepi di Padre Cosimo, nativo di Uggiano Montefusco, hanno già raggiunto grande notorietà e diversi sono i riconoscimenti assegnategli da vari Comuni (Trepuzzi, Novoli, Ceglie Messapica,…) e da varie province ( Lecce, Taranto, Brindisi,..)

Le origini della cartapesta che fu e resta In Puglia fenomeno tipicamente leccese, risalgono probabilmente ad un periodo compreso fra il XVII e il XVIII secolo, quando con Io sviluppo delle arti legato al moltiplicarsi delle Chiese e dei monumenti, il gusto e la creatività degli artigiani leccesi, che non disponevano dl materie pregiate, trovarono grazie ad una pazienza certosina, temperamento ed estro nell'arte di plastificare la carta, avvalendosi di altre materie "povere" quali: paglia, stracci, colla, gesso e pochi e modesti attrezzi che diedero la possibilità di realizzare una miriade di lavori sacri, che richiamavano al culto i fedeli quando la Chiesa della Controriforma era impegnata nella sua crociata contro l'eresia luterana.

The mangers that it exposes near the Town Library of Massafra are in cartapesta.

Technique this last that you/he/she has not only inserted already it in the stupendous world of the art for the creation of sacred statues and characters, but also for the old works of his earth salentina that represents in all the mini particular.

Father's mangers Cosimo, native of Uggiano Montefusco you/they have already reached great notoriety and different they are the recognitions assigned from varied Communes (Trepuzzi, Novoli, Ceglie Messapica,…) and from varied provinces (Lecce, Taranto, Brindisi,..)

The origins of the cartapesta that it was and it stays In Puglia typically phenomenon leccese, go up again probably to an inclusive period between the XVII and the XVIII century, when with I develop some arts tied to multiplying of the Churches and of the monuments, the taste and the creativeness of the artisan leccesis, that didn't prepare dl appreciated subjects, they found thanks to a Carthusian patience, temperament and fancy in the art to plasticize the paper, using him of other poor subjects what: straw, torn, glue, chalk and a few and modest utensils that gave the possibility to realize a myriad of sacred jobs, that they recalled to the cult the believers when the Church of the Controriforma was hocked in its crusade against the Lutheran heresy.
